Select an anthem from the list below:

Welcome! This website has been created to give some background on over 400 anthems past and present, as well as anthems of other entities. You will find background on the history of the anthem, a music file (usually in MIDI format), lyrics (usually with an English translation as well), and for some, sheet music. The main goal of this site is to offer the most comprehensive source on anthem information on the Internet.
Also, please note that the information provided here is done so as a scholarly study on anthems. The inclusion of a particular anthem should not be taken as an expression of political beliefs of myself. I am striving for the information on this page to be fair and balanced, even in the dealing of anthems some may find "controversial". I would appreciate notice of any information that is erroneous on my page (as well as information that might not be viewed as impartial), but please, if you do inform me of any information, I would very much appreciate sources to back it up, keeping in mind the scholarly nature of the site.
This site grows constantly, so please check out the What's New page frequently to see what has been added. The main reason we have been growing so much is due to contributors. I can't find out all the anthem-related information myself, so I rely on information from others who may know more. I would like to use this space to publicly thank those who have contributed. If you wish to contribute, please send me an e-mail. Don't forget to also check our Frequently Asked Questions page before you send an e-mail.
You can get started in your search by clicking on an anthem (sorted by the name of the nation or group who uses the anthem) in the table to the left, they are listed alphabetically so just expand the list by cliking on the first letter of the desired name. Alternatively, you can also use our Search feature to find your information.
Mine is not the only site on the Internet devoted to the study of anthems. There are others as well, and I've posted links to a few other sites (as well as links to anthem-related books and CDs) in my Links page.
I hope that this reference tool is of use to anyone wanting to learn more about the nations of the world. I truly believe that knowledge of other nations and cultures will help lead to further peace and understanding in the world, and learning about other anthems is a good beginning.
